This book tries to give a honest report about the 'how', 'why' and 'when' of dope use in the world of competitive sports in general and race cycling in particular. The author takes a look at 25 years of using stimulants in e.g. professional cycling, starting just after the second world war and on to the year of publication, 1974. A sombering read for anyone who thought that in former days people didn't use stimulants to attain better performance.
